Simple rules of the game dominoes - help the player for effective gameplay

Instructions for domino games:

1. The set consists of 28 domino tiles. Each player receives 7 tiles, and the remaining tiles are placed face down in the middle of the table as a spare deck. Domino wins the person who is the first to get rid of all his tiles or stones.
2. The player starting the game places a tile with two ends with the same number of points in the middle of the table. Then the next players arrange their tiles next to it, so that the ends with the points match each other.
3. If a player does not have a tile with ends with the right number of points, they must choose one of the spare decks. If there are no more tiles in the spare deck, the player skips his turn.
4. The player who first uses up his tiles wins the game and it's game over. If it is no longer possible to lay tiles and players are unable to complete the game, the game is a draw. The last player cleans up after the end of the game :)
5. Some variations of dominoes use additional rules, such as "matching" (the ability to choose one tile from a spare deck after laying the tile), "double" (using one end of the tile twice in one turn) or "covering" (the ability to cover a tile laid by another player).

Here are some tips that can help you increase your chances of winning as you play:

• Try to use your tiles as soon as possible, especially those with a high score of points. The fewer tiles you have, the better your chances of winning.
• Watch your moves and try to predict what other players will do. Try to block them from laying tiles or at least make it difficult for them.
• Try to arrange tiles so that other players have as few options as possible. The fewer options other players have, the fewer tiles they will be able to arrange.
• Don't be afraid to use additional rules like "match" or "double" if they are available in the game, but be careful not to overdo it.
• Try to think strategically and plan your moves in advance. The better you plan your tiles, the better your chances of winning.

Materials from which dominoes are produced

What materials do we make up of dominoes? In the Puzzle Factory, they are made of chalk paper, which we print using CMYK technology. Thanks to this, we obtain a height, quality of production of a domino game. Later, we apply a dispersion varnish on it – matt or glossy. The whole is glued on bookbinding cardboard with a thickness of 1.5 mm. And now we will explain to you why we decided on these materials.

Chalk paper for domino games

As we have said, we use chalk paper to create dominoes. It is coated with a special layer made of natural pigment and glue. This type of paper is available in matt or glossy versions – you can choose one of the variants, depending on your needs. Its great advantage is that it reproduces details well, thanks to which they are very clear. Moreover, all colors look beautiful on it - they look very natural, and at the same time they are strongly saturated.

Chalk paper is also distinguished by a smooth and pleasant to the touch surface. All elements that are made of it are slightly slippery to the touch. What's more, it is impossible to write on them, which protects dominoes from destruction. This material is also relatively resistant to mechanical damage. Thanks to this, you can be sure that our game will serve you and others for many years to come.

Print domino games

CMYK printing is the most commonly used type of printing. Simply put, it is a color print, which provides great quality and faithful color reproduction. It is a combination of four basic colors, which - thanks to mixing with each other - provide an unlimited number of colors and shades. Thanks to this, your domino can look the way you dream.

Dispersion varnish in the production of dominoes of the game

Domino elements gain even better properties thanks to the application of dispersion varnish. We use it for mechanical protection of printing, as well as refining surfaces on which printing ink has been applied. The varnish creates a colorless layer, affecting the intensity and saturation of colors. Thanks to it, colors gain depth. The dispersion varnish also makes the individual domino elements gain in rigidity. In addition, it increases their abrasion resistance. Depending on your preferences, we can apply glossy or matt varnish to dominoes.

Bookbinding cardboard for dominoes games - the heart of our games

All domino elements are made on 1.5 mm thick bookbinding cardboard.In fact, it is the thickest material that can be obtained from paper. It is ecological and made of good quality, segregated waste paper. It is distinguished by a smooth and even surface, as well as high rigidity, which is of great importance in the case of games, because – after all – they are often used. It is important that as a result of bending, no traces of fractures are formed on our cardboard. It is not susceptible to mechanical damage, moisture, pollution or even various types of loads.

In this case, the dimension of a single element is 90 x 45 mm, and the whole consists of 28 elements with rounded corners. Corrugated board for domino games

When it comes to packaging for the domino game, our proposal is a corrugated cardboard box: laminated, unglued, closed with a deadbolt. The material used gives it strength and  a smooth surface. What's more, corrugated board is often produced through recycling, so it is an environmentally friendly solution. It is also distinguished by its lightness, thanks to which such packaging is easy to use – they do not additionally increase the weight placed in the middle of the game.

On the obverse of the packaging we place GC cardboard, which is mainly produced from virgin fibers. The GC1 or GC2 cartons we use are multi-layered, one-sided, and usually have a white bottom. They provide excellent print quality as well as refinements.

Then, CMYK printing is applied to the GC cardboard, the advantages of which we told earlier. Thanks to it, the packaging acquires an attractive appearance. Depending on your needs, it may include, for example, your company logo or another, more complex graphic design. All prints that are created on our packaging not only look great, but are also very durable.

Matte or glossy foil for domino packaging

You can additionally apply a glossy or matte film to the cardboard. Thanks to it, the packaging will gain even greater strength. In addition, it will increase its visual qualities, increase resistance to moisture, sunlight, as well as mechanical damage, such as scratches or abrasion. In the case of matte film, the colors become more subdued, thanks to which they gain an elegant and delicate look. Thanks to the glossy foil, the packaging gains a more intense color, as well as gloss, thanks to which the packaging attracts attention.

Corrugated cardboard type E in the production of dominoes

Corrugated cardboard type E is, in other words, cardboard with a wave height of 1-2 mm (it is also called a microwave). It is stable and durable, yet relatively lightweight. What's more, it is also an ecological solution, because the production uses largely recycled materials - most often newspapers or old boxes. It is a material that can also be recycled. It is also important that little energy is used for its production, dyes and bleach are not used, so no impurities are  involved. The cardboard we use is gray or bleached on one side.

Product packaging and domino game logistics

After creating the game and packaging, we take care of packaging and logistics. The dimensions of the collective packaging are adapted to the pallet and, of course, the contents - we optimize the shipment of :)

Domino game and multipack

We pack domino games in a flap box, in the amount of 14 pieces. This is the so-called collective packaging, which provides additional protection for dominoes, especially during transport. If necessary, this type of packaging can be stacked, which is very convenient when transporting more games. The box is made of corrugated cardboard type B – the wave thickness in this case is from 2.5 to 3 cm. This material consists of several layers of paper and is distinguished by a great strength-to-weight ratio. It is also important that it is completely biodegradable.

Thermal label - marking domino games

We stick an information label with a bar code on the bulk packaging. It has standard sizes of 8 x 6 cm. It is worth noting that it is a thermal label, distinguished by high quality printing. What's more, in this case, printing costs nothing and does not generate any waste – it is therefore a much more environmentally friendly solution than thermal transfer labels often used by competitors.

Preparing the shipment of domino games

Next, we prepare domino games for shipping. We lay them out in layers on a pallet.

We make sure that both the bottom of the collective packaging and its upper part are properly protected against moisture. Then we "stretch" everything, so we wrap the pallets with stretch film. All this provides the packaging with greater stability and additionally protects it from the risk of damage. Stretch film is light, durable, adheres well to corrugated cardboard and does not move unnecessarily. What's more, it shows high flexibility and resistance to tearing. It is not afraid of frost, snow, rain or UV rays. This means that it works perfectly in almost all conditions.
