The game consists in laying on the table created by the player combinations of dice. They can be either series or groups. A series consists of at least three dice with consecutive numbers in one color, and a group consists of three or four dice with the same number in different colors.
The aim of the game is to put all the dice on your board as quickly as possible. The first player to do so wins. The other players count the points left on their tiles and write them down with a negative sign. The winner writes down the total points of the other players with a positive sign. The game can be played with or without a time limit.
Simple rules and dynamic gameplay make "rummikub" one of the favorite family games in many countries.
The game "rummikub" was named Game of the Year 1980 in Germany.
